Signature Body Butter
The Montecito Body Butter story began many years ago when a high profile client of mine handed me a tube of prescription lotion that her dermatologist recommended she use on her very dry skin.
I looked at the ingredients, most of which were unnatural and chemically derived and said “Vicki, there’s no way I’m touching this and I don’t think you should be using it on your skin, your largest organ, that soaks up whatever we put on it! Let’s find something organic and delicious to use instead.”
That began our search for the perfect blend of body butters, which we would heat up on an oil warmer, table-side during our treatments. I couldn’t find anything ready made, so decided to create it. Collaborating with a local organic body care company, we curated the ingredients in small handmade batches. Over the years the recipe was refined to just four certified organic ingredients which I use exclusively in every treatment. It melts upon contact with the skin, the texture is smooth and absorbs easily, giving the perfect amount of glide for deep tissue and Swedish style massages.
What began as a search for something to use in bodywork sessions, ended up being the solution to a year round issue here in Central/Southern California — dry skin — and we’re using this body butter as a daily moisturizer. My clients love it, my family loves it, and I’m so excited to start offering it on a wider scale. We’ve sourced the very best ingredients, along with European glass jars. This body butter has no preservatives, is 100% natural and can be used literally head to toe! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
